Noblesse et Chambre des comptes de Bretagne
Abstracts
During its existence from the Middle Ages to the Modern Time, the Chambre des comptes of Brittany consisted of nearly 1 200 magistrates. Seventy-nine families raised to the peerage thanks to their membership at this institution. The presidents and the attorneys came from the old nobility. On the other hand, the share of the nobility decreased from the XVIth to the XVIIIth century for the masters and the listeners.
