Even if football started in Europe, it transformed in Latin America into a specific mass culture with so much power that the transferred object that resulted from it was deeply changed. The conditions of its reception and its growth, based on a constantly revived antagonism with Old Continent, led to the apparition of original structures, as regards football clubs and organizations of supporters as well as national federations and the south-american confederation. The researches conducted for around thirty years allow to describe this particularity and thus lead to legitimate the pretention of Latin America to present itself as the real continent of football.
