Diversité des usages santé d’Internet et enjeux de communication

Health Information on the Internet: Uses and Communication Issues

The Revue internationale de communication sociale et publiquepresents an issue following the theme of Internet usage for general and specific demographics (young adults, LGBT), concerning various themes (general health, sexual health, prescription drug abuse) and taking place on various platforms (Internet sites, on-line forums, social networks). The issue also presents an intervention by public health and one by community health about social networking sites. Thereby, its seven articles illustrate the wide-ranging diversity of the uses of Internet health sites showing that they are anchored in an economic, social and cultural context and that they act in conjunction with other means of obtaining health information. Evidently, their development transforms the modalities of communication of those in the health field.
