E-Phaïstos is an open, general-interest, multidiscplinary technical historical review. It provides to young researchers the opportunity to publish in the fields of archeology, technical history and anthropology, and, more generally, to all researchers in the human and social sciences, architecture, and patrimony that touch upon techniques in society. Resolutely international, the review puts into perspective the technical history of techniques in analyzing the different intellectual, cultural, social, economic, and political facets of practices, techniques and technology, all without overlooking the epistemological approach as well as the critical study of methods and sources used by researchers.
