As a result of the health crisis, organisers of the festive so-called “Chinese New Year” celebrations suspended the events for two years. Some dances, such as the Lion Dance and the Dragon Dance, reappeared at the beginning of 2022, but the big parades still could not take place. The community's nostalgia for its pre-COVID rites and rituals is widespread.
