Created in 1973 and published by CNRS EditionsPaléorient is an international, multidisciplinary journal on pre- and proto-history, from the Paleolithic Age to the first urban civilizations of the Early Bronze Age, and spanning lands from the Mediterranean to the Indus, and Central Asia to the Persian Gulf. Paléorient is a space for discussions between prehistorians, archaeologists, anthropologists, and specialists in various aspects of the evolution of humans in their natural environment, from the time they first appeared until the beginnings of urban civilization. The journal is biannual and publishes review papers, information notes, and comparative analyses in both French and English, sometimes in specially themed issues. Paléorient joins OpenEdition Journals with its four most recent issues.
