Napis. Periodical on Occasional and Applied Literature

Created in 1994 and published by The Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Napis is a journal dedicated to applied and “situational” literature. Articles appear in Polish, Russian, and English and focus on hybrid texts that straddle the line between literature and social and political life or texts that are intended for specific situations (hymns, polemical writings, political poetry, graffiti, eulogies, etc.) or uses (cookbooks, correspondence, homilies, sermons, agriculture manuals, history books, advice columns), as well as the distribution and reception of those texts. Napis is joining OpenEdition with the full versions of its three latest issues.
