Launched in 1979, Histoire Épistémologie Langage (HEL) is a biannual international journal published by the Société d’Histoire et Épistémologie des Sciences du Langage (SHESL). Articles can cover any place or time period. The journal’s mission is to document linguistic ideas and their social and cultural context and history and to analyze and critique them from a metalinguistic point of view. HEL accepts articles from any field that studies language or languages—grammar and linguistics, naturally, but also language philosophy, logic, and rhetoric. The three latest issues of HEL are available in full on OpenEdition Journals.
