In preparation: Conspiracy Theories Today: What Problems, what Solutions?
Today, every news item that disrupts the course of events gives rise to a conspiracy theory. But every conspiracy theory is first and foremost a rhetorical account of an event. Rhetoric makes it possible to deal with this phenomenon on two levels. Firstly, at the level of discourse analysis (in its triple dimension of ethos, pathos, and logos). But also, in the interdisciplinary light demanded by the eminently political nature of rhetoric. This situation increasingly involves the responsibility of experts, politicians, journalists, and teachers. Questioning the responsibility of these disciplines calls for epistemological reflection in an attempt to develop a common diagnosis to find realistic and effective solutions. In keeping with the spirit of the journal, this common diagnosis will be based on empirical discursive situations and the analysis of a corpus chosen for each contribution.
