Le recrutement de l’armée de terre au XVIIIe Siècle
Abstracts
Under the Ancien Régime, only a few Bretons became soldiers in the Army. Studying military recruitment, thanks to the Army rolls, could clarify this fact and shows noticeable differences between Upper and Lower Brittany. Recruitment’s geography appears in this way quite linked not only to a real practice of the french language but also to the influence more or less important of officers locally settled and belonging to the Breton nobility.
