1L’A. évoque les continuités des thèmes qu’utilisent les Sassanides, tels que la représentation de victoires, de la remise de tribut, de la chasse, qui remontent pour les uns à l’époque achéménide, ou même, pour certains, à l’époque néo-assyrienne (comparaison de scènes de chasse au palais d’Assurbanipal à Nimrud, au 7e s. av.n.è. et à Taq-e Bostan, 7e s. d.n.è.).
