Full text
1Edition with translation, commentary, glossary and facsimiles of a newly found Late Khotanese (Middle Khotanese in S.’s terminology) fragmentary manuscript in two parts from Dandan Öiliq, now in the Xinjiang Institute of Archaeology, Urumchi. Note the previously unattested word marma-sthāna‑ “soft spot, vulnerable place” in a2. As the prohibitive particle ma is only used to negate wishes and exhortations, I would translate a6-7 ma ni ba[’]ysūśtä bvāmane “we shall not realise bodhi here (i.e. in this life)”, taking ma as a late, shortened form for mara “here”.
