1Le Museum of the Negev de Beersheba a acheté il y quelque temps un groupe de 11 terres cuites, provenant « d’une grotte des alentours de la ville » mais ressemblant en réalité à des figures bien connues des assemblages phéniciens de Lachish, Tell es-Safi, Tel Zippor, Tel Erani et Maresha. L’A. décrit rapidement les types – hommes barbus, cavaliers perses et mères et enfants – qui, dans la terminologie d’E. Stern, appartiennent au « groupe orientalisant » de la coroplastie phénicienne. Il devait donc y avoir au Ve-IVe s. av. J.-C. un temple près de Bersheba qui pour le moins possédait une favissa avec des objets phéniciens.
