1The paper tries to investigate what happened to the descendants of Tiridates I, the first Arsacid monarch of Armenia who obtained the investiture to the throne by both the Roman and the Parthian emperors in 66 AD. According to Schottky's reconstruction, the royal line was not extinguished but continued until the 3rd century AD well after the fall of the main Arsacid branch. Still not all the descendants of Tiridates I became kings. During Antoninus Pius, the members of the royal line lost the kingdom to the advantage of Roman candidates from foreign dynasties or members of the Parthia ruling Arsacid branch. He individuated the descendants of Tiridates I among the discarded candidates or the lesser dignitaries of the second century AD, like the rebellious satrap Tiridates in the time of Lucius Verus and Marc Aurelius ' war. Finally, according to him Tiridates’ descendants, Khosrov and Tiridates II managed to regain the throne under the Severans to fight against Ardashir, the extinguisher of the main line of the Arsacids.
