1This book provides a new important critical edition of the Srōš Drōn, comprising chapters 3 to 8 of the Yasna ceremony, the core ritual of the Zoroastrian religion, produced with the electronic tools of the project The Multimedia Yasna for a new edition of the Yasna ceremony.
2The book is divided into 18 chapters, with Chapter 1 resuming the editorial process and methodology. Chapter 2 gives a comprehensive overview of the structure of the text and compares it to similar texts, followed by selected commentaries. Chapter 3 discusses the ritual instructions in Y 3-8 and analyzes their content in depth. Chapters 4 to 9 present the Avestan text along with its Middle Persian ritual directions in transcription and translation. Chapters 10 to 15 provide the edition with Middle Persian ritual instructions in transliteration, accompanied by the critical apparatus of the Avestan text. Chapter 16 and 17 offer an Avestan and Middle Persian glossary of the ritual instructions. Finally, Chapter 18 summarizes the variations of the Yasna.
