Since its foundation in 2004, the Research Centre on Identity and Migration Issues (RCIMI) has been affiliated to the Faculty of Political and Communication Sciences of the University of Oradea, Romania.
RCIMI has been developping collaborative projects with a variety of organizations -such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM) - Romania, the Office for Labour Force Migration (OLFM), and the Border Police-. Currently, the Centre is working on a Guide for Migrants will provide "information on the rights of migrants, the risks of illegal migration, the network of abroad employment agencies, insurance policies, banking policies, communication means, etc."
The Research Center on Identity and Migration has also been carrying out two research projects entitled Migration and Identity in a Changing Europe - Building Partnerships and Fostering Communication aiming to build and foster partnerships between migration experts from European states, and Liberalizing Labor Market in Romania - Opportunities and Risks.
