Évolution des techniques ceramiques durant la Protohistoire en Asie centrale
Abstracts
New fieldwork has been undertaken for more than ten years ago on the site of Ulug depe, located in the piedmont of the Kopet-Dagh, Turkmenistan (French Archaeological Mission in Turkmenistan). Due to its long occupation (5th-1st millennia BC), its stratigraphy which extends over almost 30 m and its sequence of architectural remains, this is one of the major sites for sedentary farming communities in southern Turkmenistan, from the Chalcolithic to the Iron Age. This article examines the ceramic technology of each occupation phase, on the basis of previously unpublished material. The reconstruction of chaînes opératoires reveals the manner in which wheel fashioning was introduced, as well as refining chronology and providing further knowledge on these communities.
