About the journal

Atlante focuses on cross-regional studies in the Romance areas – Romanesque Europe and Latin America. These regions/areas have been shaped over the centuries by a long history of exchanges and confrontations, whose modalities have been in constant evolution. They invite us to bring together knowledge and disciplines, over the whole period – from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance to the ultra-contemporary era. This journal brings together scholarly contributions on the history, culture, languages and literatures that have shaped Latin spaces through migrations, exchanges, transfers, adaptations, and cultural transmutations.

A multilingual journal (Romance languages) attached to the Centre for the Study of Foreign Civilisations, Languages and Literatures (CECILLE, ULR 4074) of the University of Lille, Atlante is a biannual peer-reviewed e-journal. Each issue presents a monographic dossier coordinated by one or more specialists. The contributions are subjected to a double-blind review by two outside referees.

In addition, each issue includes additional sections: "Annexes" (unpublished documents, editions, translations), or "Reply" (articles of max. 50,000 characters, responding to a dossier from previous issues: on exceptional grounds, longer formats might be considered by the editors) or "Reviews".

The editorial committee, which meets twice a year, is open to any proposal for a thematic dossier. A vade-mecum is available to colleagues who wish to coordinate a monographic issue.
