About the journal
Plano
Inicio de páginaThe Bulletin de l'Institut Français d'Études Andines is a multidisciplinary journal created in 1972 and directed by an editorial board in Social and Human Sciences. In its annual issues, it presents unpublished scientific articles on the Andean countries -mainly Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru- by its researchers and associates, as well as by Andean researchers or Andeanists working on this geographic area.
Evaluation process
Publish an article
The IFEA editorial committee participates in the first stage of the process, which consists of the pre-evaluation of the proposed articles (from the editorial line of the institute). If the text is approved at this stage, observations and recommendations resulting from this first phase will be sent to the authors. These must be taken into account in order to submit the article to the evaluation stage, in charge of external peers and under the "double blind" system. The evaluators have 30 days to submit their reports. In case of major discrepancies, a third reviewer will be requested to review the article. Finally, the corrected version of the accepted article is sent to the reviewers for a second reading and final approval.
Publish thematic dossier
Applications for publication are submitted to the IFEA editorial committee, which meets twice a year (April-May and October-November). The deadline for receipt of projects is March and September, respectively. The dossier goes through the first stage, the pre-evaluation stage. If the project is approved at this stage, the observations and recommendations resulting from this first phase will be sent to the scientific editors. They are responsible for communicating these observations to the authors, which must be taken into account in order to submit each of the articles that make up the project to the evaluation stage, properly speaking, by external peers and under the "double blind" system. Each article will be evaluated independently. The evaluators have 30 days to submit their reports. In case of major discrepancies, a third reviewer will be requested. Finally, the corrected version of the accepted articles is sent to the reviewers for a second reading and final approval.
Evaluation policy
The average time between receipt of the application and publication is 50 weeks.
