The set of articles here gathered will fill an obvious gap in Spanish bibliography. They are indeed centered upon the analysis of Renaissance nuptial poetry in the first half of the 18th century, and deal as well with neo-Latin compositions, as with poems in vernacular. The building of an ample critical overview will allow researchers who take an interest in the development of epithalamium, to get a right idea of the fortune of that laudatory genre within Spanish literature: it indeed encompasses a vast set of texts which, starting from Garcilaso de la Vega’s poems, end up at a late praise of the Count of Torrepalma.
