The group of experts gathered in this issue proposes a renewed approach of Garcilaso’s works, based on a thorough immersion in the Italian historical, literary and cultural context, in particular in the town of Naples. Garcilaso doesn’t so much draw attention as simple receiver of a lot of influences, as rather an Italian poet, immersed in that precise context, interacting with his time’s poets, side by side to find, in Castilian, the paths beginning to open to his friends the other Italian poets, set upon promoting the renewal of the eclogue in common language.
