Editorial Policy
Objectives of the journal
Les Cahiers de l'APLIUT is a journal founded and published by the Association des Professeurs de Langues des Instituts Universitaires de Technologie (APLIUT).
The journal has four main objectives.
-
The first objective is to encourage the publication of research carried out in the field of teaching and learning languages in Higher Education, within the Instituts Universitaires de Technologie (IUT) in France as well as in other university programs for learning foreign and second languages, languages for specific purpose and languages for academic purposes. Since its beginnings the review has been oriented towards both theoretical and applied research while maintaining a pedagogical dimension through the publication of notes on teaching experiments in each issue.
-
The second objective is to contribute to the training of teachers of languages for specific purposes by publishing research results and notes on teaching experiments. The publication benefits from a wide circulation: the printed journal was received by a large number of university laboratories and libraries until 2011, and it is offered on-line as part of OpenEdition Freemium for Journals from Cléo to which 86 universities and libraries have subscribed.
-
From the beginning, the third objective has been to encourage the teaching and learning of all foreign languages. Even though articles are written in French or English and are mainly concerned with the teaching and learning of English, the journal publishes contributions concerning Spanish, German, French as a Foreign Language as well as other less frequently taught foreign languages.
-
The fourth objective is to promote young researchers. To this end, editorial policy respects strict standards and all articles submitted to the journal are subject to anonymous peer reviewing by two members of the reviewing committee. The journal is recognised for encouraging new authors and, thanks to its wide circulation, allows young researchers to be introduced to the academic community.
An editorial team led by the Director of the journal and the Editor-in-chief produces the journal. The editorial team coordinates each issue and guarantees the scientific quality of the publication.
Until 2011, the journal was printed and distributed by subscription. Since 2001, the electronic edition has been published online, freely available in html format.
