1When all our water is forever wasted
Because of motley fools it's no longer tasted
And we can’t feed on tears
When the last drop is gone

When all our trees are cut and all our fruits are gleaned
When our copper skies can no longer be cleaned
And true become our fears
When the last leaf is dead

When no more animals on our Eden can tread
When birds nor beasts can breed
For the next coming years
When our deed is done

Then we cannot go on.

On a roof, in a yard, on balconies or sills
Each will grow a garden to plant new seeds, we will
The gardens will start small but with care they could thrive
We might even revive

Then we shall understand not everything is ours.
