Presentation

Founded in 2008, CeROArt is a peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to contemporary issues in cultural heritage conservation-restoration. It promotes an interdisciplinary approach, fostering dialogue between conservators-restorers, heritage scientists, art historians, philosophers, researchers, and museum professionals.

CeROArt is a pioneer in Open Access, ensuring free and unrestricted access for researchers, professionals, and students interested in conservation-restoration practices, theories, and ethics. The journal is indexed in major academic databases (DOAJ, BCIN, AATA, OpenEdition.org, Isidore, ICCROM, etc.), ensuring broad dissemination of published research.

Thanks to its flexible online format, CeROArt publishes original contributions on a rolling basis, allowing for timely engagement with the evolution of practices and research in the field. As a Diamond Open Access journal, it allows authors to publish free of charge.

Each issue includes:

  • A thematic dossier, defined by the editorial board or a guest editor.

  • Varia articles, welcoming independent contributions.

  • A spotlight section, focusing on restoration campaigns or case studies.

  • Book, conference, and study day reviews.

Additionally, Interviews and Essays with a more reflective focus can also be featured.

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review, ensuring the scientific quality of the publications.

Far from being merely a publishing platform, CeROArt serves as a space for discussion, where methodological, ethical, and professional developments are critically debated through a multidisciplinary approach.
