Politisation et scrutins municipaux. L'exemple du Maine-et-Loire sous la IVe République

Abstracts

Few studies are devoted in France to the local elections. The reason undoubtedly comes from alleged "the apolitical attitude" of these polls. The example of the Maine-and-Loire, a department with strong political contrasts, makes it possible to show that these consultations are more political than it was not known as. The political membership of the mayors is indeed rather in conformity with the managed political temperaments their. Other teaching of this study: the narrow agreement enters the profession of the local councillors and the socio-economic mediums dominant.
