Prof. Clive Emsley, the editor of Crime, History & Societies/ Crime, histoire & sociétés since 2007, retired in September 2009. Clive Emsley was among the founding fathers of CHS and has since contributed to the journal as author of numerous articles and reviews and as a longstanding member of the editorial board.
The editorial board of CHS would like to express their thanks for his invaluable contribution to the journal and for his inspiring and tireless efforts to strengthen and promote studies into the history of crime and criminal justice in Britain and Europe.
