Le lien social en mouvement : Regard ethno-sociologique sur un centre de remise en forme, une autre logique d’être ensemble
Abstracts
The aim of this study was to observe and to analyse the creation and the development of social relations in a singular context. Fitness clubs invaded our daily environment but remain ignored in their social dimensions. The purpose was to show that the characteristics of this activity, the behaviours and the way of members’ practice determine the emergence of another form of social link which does not seem possible in the traditional sports. Studying a group of members in a fitness club such as Carcassonne Olympique, allows to understand how social link is actually created here and now. An ethno-sociological work was realised with several methodological tools : a field investigation, observations and semi-directing interviews. Results emphasised another way to being together, where individuality and the self-concern are reinforced despite collective practice. The time and the ratio of frequentation out of practising are good indicators. Would this be an example for our current societies, would we understand how to share common spaces with complete freedom ?
