76 %.
Is there a reading committee? Who participates in it?
We don’t have a reading committee; each paper is evaluated by a double-blind peer review. Reviewers must be specialist in the topic of the paper.
Does the journal develop a special relationship with an academic institution?
If so, what is it? Yes, we are part of the American Art and Aesthetics Studies Institute “Mario J. Buschiazzo”, School of Architecture, Design and Urbanism, University of Buenos Aires (IAA-FADU-UBA)
Are there debates within the editorial board? If so, how are they made visible in the journal?
The editorial board select each year the topic and the editor for the next edition. So, the debates for this selection are visible in the journal

Economically, we are financed by our University, and formally and intellectually we are part of the University too.
Research and Journal
What milieu does the journal plug into? What audience is targeted?
Architectural and Art Historians are the main audience of Anales.
From the journal’s point of view what are the outcomes expected from the research in architecture? (urban planning and landscape architecture)?
Our focus is Architecture and Design History, we are specifically dedicated to this topic.
According to you is there a difference between research and innovation? If there is, what does it consist of? And what about research and expertise?
We are focused in original research papers. In my opinion, original research implies necessarily an innovative point of view. About expertise, we are interested into publish a wide range of authors, from young researchers to senior ones.
How does research content fit into the journal’s plan?
As we explained, the focus of the journal are research papers.
During the last year, how many researchers contributed to the journal?
Each year we publish 16 papers and 8 books reviews. So, 24 authors.
Considering the past ten years, what transformations have occurred concerning the relationships between research and the profession?
Between research and public discussion? At least in Argentina, research in architecture increased notoriously in the last decade. À lot of graduate students and PhD candidates are expanding the field now. But, talking particularly about our journal, the first number appeared in 1948, so, we have an old tradition about research in Architecture and Design History.
How do you select peer-review experts? How do you deal with peer reviewed assessments and disclose them to the authors? (Problems and anecdotes)
We select the reviewers based on their expertise in the topic of the proposed paper. We choose frequently foreign reviewers in order to guarantee that they don’t recognize the paper´s authors.
What is the part played by the lay out management? (Text/image, typography, cover-front)?
We have a Graphic Design Team working on these topics and a webmaster in order to guarantee de diffusion of our journal.
