Entre création et médiation : les résidences d’écrivains et d’artistes
Between Creation and Outreach: Writers’ and Artists’ Residencies

Residences, as an apparatus supporting artistic or literary creation, mixed with territorial strategies – from local to international – are a cultural object paradoxically still little explored from a scientific point of view, despite its historicity. Their form, unstable and composite according to their objectives and their partners, is structured by a hybrid principle, in tension between creation and mediation. The question of the place of the artist in society and in his relation to the public is thus analyzed from the point of view of the residential device’s characteristics.
