The annual journal Chroniques yéménites was founded in 1993 to present the work of researchers associated with the Centre français d'études yéménites, which became the Centre français d'archéologie et sciences sociales de Sanaa in 2000.
French Center for Archaeology and Social Sciences in Sanaa. The journal evolved in 1997 to become a peer-reviewed scientific journal, integrating research in various disciplines on Yemen and the other countries of the Arabian Peninsula.

The journal ceased publication with issue 17 | 2012.
Since then, the journal has become Arabian Humanities and continues to publish.
