Diasporas was founded in 2002 and is published biannually. It is dedicated to the history of diasporic phenomena, migration and the histories of ethnic and religious minorities. The journal includes articles on themes such as the circulation of people, objects and ideas, inter-cultural contact and cultural transfer, and the construction of transnational networks. While initially situated at the intersection of history and sociology, Diasporas now focuses on history over the long duration with coverage from Antiquity to the contemporary era in order to include the widest range of different epochs.
