Submission information

Discours, a journal of linguistics, psycholinguistics and computational linguistics
Modalités de soumission

Submissions are welcome all allong the year. The journal sends out a call for papers twice a year and publishes two regular issues per year, in June and in December (see News).

Submissions must be original texts that should not have been published previously. They must be respectful of the publications ethics and malpractice statement of the journal.

Submission process

Submissions should be sent by e-mail to: discours@univ-nantes.fr with the following subject: Discourse – submission.

For an initial submission, authors are requested to submit an anonymous version of their manuscript, a .doc(x) (Word) or .odt (LibreOffice) version is strongly recommended, a PDF version is also possible.

After acceptance a .doc(x) (Word) or .odt (LibreOffice) version will be requested in accordance with the format specified below. This version must be accompanied by:

1. the signed non-exclusive cession of rights contract which is available (in French only) in Appendix;

2. a pdf version in which figures are inserted where applicable;

3. as many files as figures (submitted separately from the Word/LibreOffice document).

Instructions for authors

Articles may be written in French, British English or in bilingual form. Articles should be between 45,000 and 60,000 characters (punctuation and spaces included, references excluded).

Whatever the language used, the formal quality of the article must be faultless. It is recommended that non-Francophone authors writing in French and non-Anglophone authors writing in British English have their articles reread by native speakers before submission. The journal cannot be responsible for bringing an article up to the required standard of French or English.

Stylesheet

Articles must be formatted by applying the stylesheet in appendix. All the writing instructions are given in the stylesheet itself.

Anonymity

As the reviewing will be blind, papers must not include authors' names and affiliations. Furthermore, self-references that reveal the author's identity, e.g., "We previously showed (Smith, 1991) ..." must be avoided. Instead, use citations such as "Smith (1991) previously showed ...".

Peer review

Each submission is assessed by at least two independent referees according to the Discours Review Form. Reviewers can be member of our Scientific Committee or outside specialists with particular expertise in the topic of the manuscript (see the non exhaustive list of acknowledgements on page Outside referees). Should their respective opinions differ strongly, a third reviewer will be asked to provide his/her opinion.

Schedule

Schedule is detailed in the Call for Papers
