About the Journal

Dynamiques Environnementales-Journal international des géosciences et de l’environnement is an research oriented, interdisciplinary journal bearing on earth sciences and social sciences. The key word in our description is «dynamics», a central notion at the heart of our editorial policy. Equally central is the notion of an interaction between human agency and the environment, in the context of the pressures increasingly brought to bear by man on natural ressources and functions. We aim to improve our understanding of our natural heritage, in order to fine-tune our management. This implies shifts in the scale of priorities, and, in fine, a transdiscplinary approach. To achieve this, the journal publishes a stream of studies in the field of natural sciences, which constitute the upstream flow, as well as studies informed by social sciences, downstream, which demonstate the need to take on boward the universal principles guiding complex systems.

Dynamiques Environnementales-Journal international des géosciences et de l’environnement is keen to publish fundamental research, applied research, syntheses as well as pedagogical packages or fact sheets. Our goal is to reach a better understanding of natural, environmental logics, as well as those shaped by man, both past and present. This implies a combination, questionning and cross examination of knowledge and accepted truths. Our ultimate purpose is to help societies, community leaders, experts and the people at large to take stock of existing and future environmental challenges.
