“Literature’s exception(s)”, E.M. Forster, V. Woolf

This issue of Études britanniques contemporaines offers a selection of papers given during the SEAC-La Nouvelle Workshop of the SAES conference hosted by Aix-Marseille University in June 2019. It also displays a selection of articles deriving from the one-day conference on Howards End (Forster and Ivory) co-organised by the SEAC and hosted at the Université Paris 3–Sorbonne Nouvelle in December 2019. It closes on a section devoted to the reassessment of Virginia Woolf’s feminism deriving from the papers delivered during a one-day conference co-organised by the Société d’Études Woolfiennes and hosted by Aix-Marseille University in June 2017. We would like to express our gratitude to the members of the organising committees of the various events and to the guest editors of this volume.
