Ethics, law and institutional support

Deontological statement

Authors are requested to bring their text into conformity with the rules of ethics of scientific research and publishing, in accordance with the standards of the journal.

Therefore, all submissions for publication in the journal must be accompanied by a declaration from the author(s) via the corresponding author(s) guaranteeing compliance with the following rules (form attached).

- The author(s) guarantee(s) that the article submitted to the editor is an original article, the content of which (or a significant part of which) has not been submitted at the same time to another journal nor has it been published before.

- The author(s) must ensure that all data contained in the submitted article are authentic.

- The author(s) undertakes to declare any conflict of interest in relation to the subject and purpose(s) of the submitted publication.

- All sources of funding for the work must be stated.

- The author(s) guarantee(s) that they have ensured that no participant in the research that gives rise to the article has been prejudiced in the course of the research.

- The author(s) ensure(s) that the personal information of respondents is fully anonymised if the persons concerned have not agreed to its disclosure and/or if disclosure could put the persons concerned at risk. This applies both to textual quotations and to images and any additional audio or visual material.

- The author(s) warrants that he/she has verified that all copyrighted material within the article has permission for publication and that material for which the author(s) does not personally hold the copyright is not reproduced without permission.

- The author(s) guarantee(s) that there is no plagiarism in their text and that they have taken care to :
. appropriately cite the authors whose work they are using ;
. not paraphrasing or copying extracts from another author's publication without mentioning them;
. not appropriating the results of research conducted by others.

- In the case of a multi-authored publication, the corresponding author declares that he/she has ensured that the co-authors have approved the submitted version, as well as the final version of the article including any corrections requested following the review.

Allegations of misconduct

In the event of allegations of misconduct made to the editorial staff, regardless of the nature of the allegations or the manner in which they are brought to the attention of the journal, whether before or after publication, the article in question will be immediately suspended from the evaluation procedure or de-published and the case will be referred to the scientific integrity referent of the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne for the initiation of a procedure.

Legal aspects

EchoGéo is licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International License.

Access to EchoGéo is free of charge. Its contents may be downloaded and used freely for personal information, research and teaching. Consultation of the journal prohibits any further commercial exploitation or alteration of the content. Permission to reproduce may be granted, under conditions to be negotiated with the journal's administration.

The use of images or texts from EchoGéo on Internet sites is subject to the usual rules of citation rights, i.e. limited to brief extracts bearing a compulsory and precise mention of their source. The journal may grant permission for more extensive or even complete reproduction upon request.

The opinions expressed in this journal are the sole responsibility of the authors; they cannot be attributed to the institutions to which they belong or which have funded their work.

Institutional support

EchoGéo benefits from the institutional support of the UMR Prodig: Pôle de recherche pour l'organisation et la diffusion de l'information géographique, UMR 8586 (CNRS) - 215 (IRD), whose supervisors are the CNRS, the universities Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Université Paris Cité, the IRD establishments and AgroParisTech, in partnership with Sorbonne University.

This support consists of financial support (funding of translations and committee meetings) and staff support (editorial secretariat).
