Figures du travail
From factory life to office work, domestic tasks to hospital functions, from crafts to agriculture, from corporate culture to artistic practices, from precarious jobs to disappeared professions, the spectrum of work figures is broad and plural.
Just as there are many conceptions of work, there are many ways of representing work universes and practices. This volume brings together articles from different disciplines (history, literary studies, art history, cinema, anthropology, philosophy) to explore several ways of observing, describing, narrating, staging and documenting work.
All contributions invite us to question representations of work in distinct historical contexts. In other words, they ask how writers, workers, craftspeople, artists, filmmakers and philosophers have given shape to experiences and thoughts of work.
