Presentation

Founded in 1983 by the University of Lille 1, seat of its publication, Espace Populations Sociétés is a multidisciplinary, international and thematic review. It is open and intended for scientists whose research topics cover the three key words that make up the title.  In addition to its thematic issues, the journal regularly publishes spontaneous articles in varias.
Population differentiation and social differentiation configurations, practice or experience of space, spatial differentiation of populations, societies or social groups, the interweaving of social phenomena, and their demographic and spatial interactions are objects of studies for geographers, demographers, sociologists, anthropologists, historians, political scientists, economists ...
By bringing together in one publication the work carried out on the same topic by researchers from different disciplinary and geographical backgrounds, Espace, Populations Sociétés wants to offer the structure of meetings and exchanges necessary to improve the knowledge of a domain located at the crossroads of several social sciences.

The journal is available in full text for issues since 2004 on Revues.org, older issues (from 1983 to 2003) are available on Persée

Since 2014, Espace, Population, Sociétés became only online and free.
