About the journal
In relation to theoretical and fundamental questions, the journal Éducation relative à l’environnement: Regards - Recherches - Réflexions supports the development of close links between research and action through a process of mutual enrichment of theory and practice. The journal contributes to the building of a researchers network dedicated to promoting the quality of our lifeworld through educational dynamics. It invites practitioners to develop a reflexive perspective on their educational actions and to mobilize and share their knowledge. The journal is directed to researchers, students, teachers, and educators. It is published twice a year with one thematic or special issue and one regular issue.
The journal Éducation relative à l’environnement: Regards - Recherches - Réflexions (ERE) is the result of a fruitful partnership among various research groups and institutes within the French speaking world. It is housed within a research team at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM): Centre de recherche en éducation et formation relatives à l’environnement et à l’écocitoyenneté. Founded in 1999 by Lucie Sauvé (professor, UQAM) and Louis Goffin (professor at the Fondation Universitaire Luxembourgeoise, now attached to Université de Liège, Belgium), the international journal stimulates research production. Through the publication of original articles in French, it contributes to the advancement of knowledge and to critical reflections in environmental education and related fields.
Categories of manuscripts
The journal Éducation relative à l’environnement: Regards - Recherches - Réflexions welcomes works from a large diversity of writers from various backgrounds: universities and their research centers and institutes, actors from formal education institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations, civic organizations working in the field of environmental education and related fields. All manuscripts must have a clear and explicit educational perspective and they are to be submitted in French with an abstract in English.
According to their content, all manuscripts are classified under one of the 4 following sections :

Research and Reflection
Research articles are expected to introduce original research. Manuscripts can be up to 7,500 words or 15 pages. They will be evaluated by two external reviewers and one member of the journal’s scientific committee in double-blind review. -
Regard
Manuscripts in this section are shorter and expected to introduce a critical issue and they may also share observations, experiences, practices, or projects. By adopting an analytical and critical perspective, manuscript should highlight dimensions that are transferable to other similar contexts. In the case of thematic or special issues, manuscripts must be related to the selected theme. Manuscripts can be up to 3,000 words or 6 pages. They will be evaluated by 2 external reviewers and one member of the journal’s scientific committee in double-blind review. -
Book Review
Reviews are expected to feature the critical analysis of recent work : books, collective works, research reports, educational resources. Manuscripts shouldn’t exceed 1,000 words or 2 pages. They normally will be evaluated only by the journal’s coordinator and members of the journal’s executive committee. -
Event Report
Only events with an international scope will be taken considered for publication. Manuscripts should emphasize a synthesis of the event and the exchanges between participants. Manuscripts shouldn’t exceed 1,000 words or 2 pages and they are generally evaluated internally thanks to the journal coordination and members of the executive committee.
