Guidelines for guest editors

A journal’s reputation is based not only on the scientific quality of its articles, but also on their formatting and the regularity of publication. Contributors are therefore requested to respect the publication deadlines indicated by e-Rea's editors, and check that articles are formatted as required, in compliance with the stylesheet. The editors reserve the right to refuse a contribution that does not comply with these guidelines and instructions or with the scientific standards of the journal.

Guest editors must ensure that articles have been submitted exclusively for publication in e-Rea. They must also ensure that articles comply with the peer review and publication timetable provided by the editors.

Guest editors should ensure that articles form a coherent whole, without overlap. The overall theme should remain at the heart of all contributions, and authors may need to be reminded of the issue’s theme and objectives. Guest editors should also include an introduction highlighting the originality of the issue or dossier with regard to the state of the art. This introduction plays an essential role in persuading readers of the importance of the subject and the angle covered, and of the importance of reading the articles that follow.

Reproduction rights

Guest editors must ensure that reproduction rights for images have been obtained in advance by the authors. If this is not the case, the authors will be liable for any royalties and fees relating to any images used.

Images must be supplied in JPEG format (300 dpi resolution).

Guest editors may also suggest a cover image (at least 1400 pixels).

Deadline for submissions

All articles must be submitted to the editors 9 months before the planned publication date: September 15 for publication in the Spring issue in June of the following year; January 15 for publication in the Winter issue in December, allowing for the summer break.

The Editorial Board wish to emphasize the importance of proofreading and layout prior to submission.

Editing procedures: authors are responsible for the formal editing and proof-reading of their articles, and the guest editors should make sure that these revisions have been made before submitting the complete file to the editors within the deadline. The editors of e-Rea reserve the right to refuse any late submissions.
