La résistance à la domination ottomane dans les chants épiques des Albanais

Resistance to Ottoman Domination in the Epic Songs of the Albanians
Odile Daniel
p. 91-114

Abstracts

This article focuses on three groups of Albanian epic songs in which are developed anti-ottoman themes: songs said “from Morea” (among Italo-albanians from 15th century on), songs of the kreshniks (Borderland songs, a part of which has come from Bosnia by way of bilingual bards), and songs of anti-ottoman struggle (from the end of 18th century, against the Tanzimat). Six songs are translated, one being long of more than 500 verses.
