Since 1992, the journal Études écossaises forged a solid reputation for itself as a reference publication in its disciplinary field. Its many contributors include renowned specialists such as Cairns Craig and Tom Nairn. With its strong French and international input, the journal helps develop research in the domains of politics, culture and Scottish literature. As one of the only journals specialised in Scottish studies outside Scotland it is also an effective flagship for Grenoble Alpes University.
Études écossaises is published yearly. Each issue includes a thematic section and a second, more general section covering various areas of study related to Scotland.
