FACTS Reports: Second birthday

The FACTS Initiative is now two years old. Since its inception, it has been making steady progress. Some 50 peer-reviewed articles have been published in FACTS Reports and are freely accessible online. Visits to the web site are increasing, showing that the articles and their authors are receiving attention from a growing number of people in many countries. Thus, the proof of concept has been reached: it has been established that a peer-reviewed international journal devoted to best practices and innovations in the field generates substantial interest. We hope that this second printed issue will convince more readers and authors to join the initiative. Since the inception of FACTS, the principles have not changed. They are summarized in an article initially published in volume 2.11 which provides the newcomers with a proper description of the foundations of the initiative.

FACTS needs to be developed further, a goal actively pursued by the FACTS team, which includes a new Director, Christine Rodwell. The processes are in place. New actions will soon be taken to extend the authorship and the readership. Additional areas will be opened for the publication of field actions, such as those dealing with women, children and education.

The raison d’être of this initiative is to serve those who, in one way or another, operate in the field. This requires that those individuals take the time to write about their work, while others agree to act as referees. In addition, the information published in FACTS Reports, both in the printed and electronic formats, has to be shared and disseminated.

FACTS Reports has the sole objective of being helpful; it also needs your help. FACTS Reports will be successful if supported by a broad enough community. If you wish to cooperate with this initiative, please write to:

Thanks in advance
