Investir la frontière

Investing (in) the Frontier
Edited by Marine Lépée and Gaëlle Perrot

In this fourth issue, the authors were invited to examine the ways in which borders were invested and appropriated. The contributions gathered a wide range of sources (notarial, legal, sacred, literary, iconographic, archaeological and epigraphic) and cover a broad chronological spectrum.
The authors have highlighted the diversity of investment strategies, whether unconscious or voluntary, giving meaning to the borders of mental or physical territories. Based on taxation (Michaël Girardin), trade (Margault Coste, Laura Déchery), the novelistic genre (Anthony Revelle) or local cults (Audrey Ferlut), these strategies mainly aim to picture cultural, religious, civic, memorial or biological identities.

The issue also presents two varia from the First Meeting of Doctoral Students and Young Doctors on Pre-Roman Italy held in Paris in June 2017.
