Varia

Issue 16 of GLAD! is a “Varia” issue. It includes two research articles about medical circles and lay, activist or scientific discourses linked to the medical care of LGBT people. The first discusses the relevance of the concepts of homophobia and heteronormativity for analyzing extended anti-PMA discourses, and the second offers an innovative analysis of the power relations that construct the figure of the “trans woman who stutters”. The issue features two exploratory articles, one on Lubunca and the language practices of trans' sex workers in Turkey, and another on the historical and morphological interest of conjugal feminines in French. The issue also includes a “Traductologiques” article about the translation of Our bodies, Ourselves into Brazilian Portuguese, and the column “Les genres récrits”, with a text on word order in inclusive language, as well as reviews of new publications and recently defended research dissertations. To acknowledge the work that goes into evaluating papers, GLAD! now displays the names of reviewers, with their consent. The aim of this pioneering practice is both to improve exchanges between authors and reviewers, and to make more visible the invaluable behind-the-scenes work of reviewing articles before publication.
