Much more than a fashionable trend, ecofeminism is experiencing a theoretical, militant and narrative revival. When Françoise d'Eaubonne coined the term in Le Féminisme ou la mort in 1974, she captured what is both a political urgency and possible alternative ways of life, converging within the feminist and ecologist movements. In the United States, in the 80's, it is through the figure of Starhawk and the one of the wicca, who both embody a more spiritualist conception, that the movement is pluralizing, while opening up to frictions with materialist feminism or with apocalyptic imaginaries. By crossing practices, narratives and activist discourses, the present volume offers an opening onto diverse, but not exhaustive, aspects of ecofeminism today.
