1We are very pleased to present this special issue of the Journal devoted to the short stories of Edith Wharton. Virginia Ricard, associate professor of American literature at the University of Bordeaux and guest editor of the issue, has compiled a volume of innovative research on Wharton’s short fiction which she completes with an informative introduction and a very useful bibliography. We thank her for her meticulous and thorough editorial work.
2You will also note in the front pages of this issue that Michelle Ryan-Sautour has joined the Editorial Board of the Journal as Associate Editor and that Emmanuel Vernadakis is now Consulting Editor, a position that allows him both to remain a part of Journal activities and to devote the time necessary to his role as Director of the CRILA Research Center.
