Le sens littéral entre mondes chrétiens et mondes musulmans

المعنى الحرفي بين العوالم المسيحية والعوالم الإسلامية
Entitled after its thematic dossier The Literal Meaning between Christian Worlds and Muslim Worlds, issue 41 of MIDÉO addresses the question of the literal meaning of the sacred Scriptures through a comparative approach to medieval Christian and Muslim exegesis. Arising from a set of study days held in Cairo, it brings biblical and Qurʾānic exegesis into dialogue with theology, law, and philosophy, showing that the “literal” sense is never univocal or fixed, but plural, constructed, and historically situated. Far from superficial comparisons, the contributions shed light, on both sides, on the hermeneutical creativity of medieval worlds and on the intellectual stakes involved in the interpretation of Scripture.
