1The regional conference of the International Geographical Union (IGU) was held this year in Quebec, from August 6 to 10, 2018. The commission “Geography of information, innovation and technology - C16.13” was very well represented with 5 thematic sessions (heritage, city, economy of knowledge, autonomous vehicles and mobilities 2.0, digital cartography) totaling 30 presentations (plus 3 posters) from 12 different countries. Interventions take place over 3 days, leaving the opportunity for its members to appreciate the work of other thematic commissions present in Quebec City. The commission also organized its traditional “Business meeting” on August 10th, announcing the future orientations. Among the important informations, let us note the intention to organize a special session at the AESOP (Association of European Schools of Planning) conference in Venice, in 2019, and a meeting in Milan, the previous days. This congress should allow to Mark Wilson and Stefano Di Vita, members of our commission, to organize a session on “autonomous vehicles and their spatial impacts. Another important decision was take in the “Business Meeting”: Kenji Hashimoto (Waseda University) accepted the responsibility for a special issue of NETCOM journal dedicated to digital development in Japan. The texts are expected by the end of 2018 for a publication scheduled for 2019.
