The Observatoire de la société britannique is a peer-reviewed journal focusing on contemporary Britain. It publishes research articles in both English and French addressing political, social, economic and cultural developments in the United Kingdom.
The journal brings together different disciplinary approaches to contemporary Britain and encourages comparative and transnational perspectives.
The journal is published twice a year. It also publishes selected proceedings from the international conferences organised by the Observatoire de la société britannique network (see “Le réseau OSB” for further information about the network).

Brexit at Five and Ten: Aspects of a Pivotal Decade
The British referendum of 23 June 2016, called by Prime Minister David Cameron after a renegotiation with the European Union in the winter, was a seismic event in Britain and the EU, the results of which continue to unfold ten years later. In the UK, the political and economic effects of Brexit are enduring and multi-faceted, confirming that it is ‘a process, not an event’. This special issue provides a detailed understanding of some of the effects of the polarising Brexit referendum on the British political landscape.
