Assessment procedure
Proposals for articles in varia
Articles are received by the editorial secretariat, which checks that the proposal is original and complies with the journal’s editorial standards. The article is first read to ensure that it fits within the journal’s epistemological fields: philosophy of education and history of ideas.
Articles are then presented to the editorial committee, which meets every two months. Two experts external to the committee are chosen, as well as a referent who is a member of the editorial committee. The anonymized articles are then sent to the expert reviewers, who decide whether or not they are receivable. Several reviews are sometimes necessary between the referent and the authors before the article is accepted for publication.
For proposals for thematic issues
Proposals for thematic issues are received by the editorial secretariat, who ensures that the proposal is in line with the journal’s fields: philosophy of education, history of ideas.
The scientific argumentation is presented to the members of the editorial committee, who accept or reject the proposal. One of the members of the committee is also chosen to specifically guide the coordinators of the dossier through the various phases of publication. A draft procedure is proposed, together with a provisional calendar. The articles that compose the thematic dossier are reviewed by the same double-blind process as the varia articles.
